... A 90s Love Fest
by Katie Langley
I have never really had any Easter traditions, other than consuming a frightening amount of chocolate – but isn’t that a tradition everyone shares? There’s no camping, no family get-togethers, and I don’t deprive myself of any meat (I’m a heathen – it’s true). I have four days to do whatever the hell I like, and it’s quite delightful actually. This year I spent a decent portion of that time enjoying a 90s music countdown. Nothing says Easter like 90s music, right? Err, whatever.
There’s something about the daggy denim, blonde tips and catch-and-release butterfly dance moves that really speaks to my soul. It was a complete nostalgia fest for me complete with sing-a-longs and a few Michael Jackson dance moves.
I often try to force my 90s love onto my friends, so in that same spirit I give to you some of my favourite 90s jams. That’s what the cool kids said then, right?
'Spaceman' – Babylon Zoo
'No Rain' - Blind Melon
'All For You' - Sister Hazel
'Bittersweet Symphony' - The Verve
'Gangster's Paradise' - Coolio
'Even Flow' - Pearl Jam
